Hourly rate: advantages and risks
With an hourly rate you pay per started working hour and per helper. This can be cheap for small, easily accessible moves – but it carries a cost risk.
- Advantage: cheap for small, quick moves
- Risk: open-ended costs in the event of delays
- Hard to calculate with old buildings, narrow stairs or no parking
Fixed price: planning certainty
With a fixed price you agree on a clear amount in advance. If the move takes longer than expected, you still pay no more. This protects you especially in Berlin, where traffic jams, no-parking zones and old-building stairwells make the effort hard to predict.
- Costs known in advance – no surprises
- No risk in the event of delays
- Optionally incl. no-parking zone and packing service
When does which pay off?
Rule of thumb: for most private and commercial moves, the fixed price is the calmer choice. An hourly rate can pay off for very small, simple moves without particular obstacles. If in doubt, have both quoted and compare them.
How our fixed price comes about
We briefly assess your requirements – number of rooms, floors, distance and wishes such as packing or a no-parking zone. From this we draw up a plannable fixed price instead of an open-ended hourly billing.
